Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Five to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Andrew Hudson, Michael Mayo, and Daniel Skinner and the reappointment of Christopher Lazzara and Allison Korman Shelton to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees.

Andrew Hudson

Hudson is the Vice President and Special Counsel for Corporate Affairs for BlinkRx. Previously, he served as a Vice President and General Counsel for TechNet, Counsel for the United States Department of Justice Office of Legal Policy Counsel, and Legislative Director and General Counsel for Senator Tom Cotton. Hudson earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Thomas Edison State University, his master’s degree in government from Regent University, and his juris doctor from the University of Alabama.

Michael Mayo, DHA

Mayo is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health. Active in his community, he is a member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and is a recipient of an honorary doctorate in healthcare education and leadership from Jacksonville University. Mayo earned his bachelor’s degree in human resource management from the University of Alabama, his master’s degree in health care administration from Texas Woman’s University, and a doctorate in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Daniel Skinner

Skinner is an Assistant State Attorney and Director of Homicide for the Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. Active in his community, he previously served as the Director of the Special Prosecution Unit, the Special Assault Division, and the Homicide Major Crimes Unit for the Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. Skinner earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and his juris doctor from Regent University.

Christopher Lazzara

Lazzara is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MountainStar Capital and a Co-Founder of the Georgia School of Orthodontics. He was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Jacksonville Business Journal. Lazzara earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University.

Allison Korman Shelton

Shelton is the Owner and Mental Health Counselor at San Marco Counseling, LLC. Active in her community, she previously served as a member of The Bolles School Board of Trustees and was the President of the Jewish Community Alliance. Shelton earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Jacksonville University.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
